"The staff was great the food was amazing for a all inclusive but the hotel needs a major renovation, the rooms are stale and old. At some point you need to replace things and not paint over them. If I had a lot of kids and wanted to make sure they ate well this is the place, I guess I couldn't get over the age of the property."

"Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Riu Cancun, but there are a few areas that could be improved. * The food selection felt repetitive, with many of the same options available every day. * Some liquor brands and drink options were not consistently available, limiting guest choices. * The property could benefit from more trees and shaded areas to provide better protection from the sun, especially around the pool and outdoor spaces. * The sports bar needs more seating and additional space, as it can become crowded during busy times. The staff were friendly, and the location is excellent, but these improvements would make the guest experience even better."

"This property was fantastic and is perfectly located in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff was outstanding—especially Carmen at the concierge desk, who provided excellent service throughout our stay. The only minor issue was the air conditioning in our room, which was a bit difficult to adjust. Other than that, our experience was excellent. I would definitely stay at this property again and highly recommend it to others visiting Cancun."

"The hotel has a very lovely pool and beach amenity, with many restaurants, bars and spots to hang out. It is a very nice, well maintained hotel. We only had one night, and had a great time at the pool. The water is warm and pleasant. There is a very short walk between the pool and the beach, and there is plenty of shade with trees, which is appreciated. Would love to return here for an extended stay."

"We had an outstanding time with our two kids (20 months and 4.5years old). The property is wonderful and so are the people. Food is available throughout the resort with no wait times, same goes for beverages. Loungers were available at any time during the day as well. Beach is beautiful and wide, kids enjoyed playing in the sand. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way for us to make our experience even more fun. It was an incredible, relaxing vacation and we would go back in a heartbeat."

"Room was clean and ac kind of worked. Room wasn't hot but also couldn't really get cool. 72 degrees is the coldest you can set the ac and it never turns off. The elevators are a nightmare. They are extremely hot and slow. Only 3 elevators running for the entire resort. There is nowhere to get a bottle of water before 11 am for some reason so be prepared. Buffet was pretty good with some changes each day. The steakhouse was mediocre at best. The service was terrible there and very slow. Food was OK and no actual steak to order which made no sense. The risotto resturant on the other hand was great. They have a filet there that is great. The hibachi was also excellent. One of the main thing that also made these two restaurants great was our waiter ceaser. Ceaser was amazing and remembered me and my wifes name anytime he seen us even when not waiting on us. Making it a truly personal experience. The pool was lively with somthing going on regularly. The pool bar tender was also good every day working hard. The runner around the pool was also great. The bad.... the resort itself is hot. They pick and chose what restaurants to open each day making wait times long sometimes. Entertainment is just not there outside the pool this time. Which was not the case when I was there in December. Overall the property is OK for the price. The staff are great. The location is great. Will stay again"
