"Hands down the best resort I’ve ever stayed at. Charming white stucco villas with red tile roofs, unbelievably CLEAN, very quiet and calm, not a party hotel, warm saltwater pools, super safe, almost like its own little village, incredibly friendly staff, yummy restaurants. Book through the resort website instead of Expedia and definitely get the all-inclusive package (even if you don’t drink) with airport transportation. My single complaint is that the air conditioner is super loud. But I cannot believe how incredible this hotel is, especially for the price. "

"Our fridge didn’t work and we went downstairs to ask to get it fixed and no one ever came up to fix it. Buffet was good. Staff were friendly and nice. No wash rags in our room only big towels. Pool and beach was nice. Overall I would give this place a 8/10. "

"Overall we had a very fun stay at Temptations Resort. The biggest highlight was the daily pool parties and games. Many of the staff and performers were excellent, hardworking, and clearly take pride in creating a lively atmosphere. The resort itself was generally clean and well maintained, the entertainment was energetic, with wild parties and the performances were a lot of fun. Unfortunately our trip ended on a very disappointing note. Our airport transfer was scheduled for 4:30 pm. When we checked in and again when we checked out, we were told we could remain at the resort and enjoy the facilities until our ride arrived. However, at exactly 3 pm we were abruptly told to leave the pool and the common areas. We were literally pulled out of the pool and directed to the lobby. Because we had been told we could stay until 4:30, we were not prepared for that. We had chlorine on us, had not showered, and had to awkwardly use the lobby bathrooms to get organized while waiting for our ride. It was an embarrassing and frustrating way to end what had otherwise been a great trip. The confusing and inconsistent communication between staff created an unnecessary situation. Temptations is a fun place with great energy, but experiences like this leave the impression that once your stay is technically over, the hospitality quickly disappears. We'd probably go back but probably for a much shorter period of time and we'd be more careful with important details that staff describe."

"The property is good. After 10:00 pm, nothing in the hotel is open except room service. We only had an issue with the morning staff—Nincy and Alfredo were very rude. However, everyone else was excellent."

"The resort was exactly what we were looking for. Traveled as a couple. Resort was clean, relaxed, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The beach was very wide and beautiful. Not a rocky beach and a nice sized swimming area. This is not a big party resort which is also what we were looking for. With the water park/water slides, this is a great family resort. Lots of kids. The food was as you would expect at an all inclusive. It was good, some really good items, but standard all inclusive at this price point. Our goal was to get out of the cold and enjoy the beach and drinks and this was a perfect choice. Easy 10 min walk (safe walk) to jump on the Ferry to go over to Isla Mujeres. We did not reserve the Level experience this time but our partial ocean view room was perfect! Full living room, very large master suite with a balcony was more than we expected. House keeping kept the room sparkling clean every day and restocked the mini bar daily. Let me say again, the staff was excellent at this resort! "

"The only truly great part of our stay at Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula was the employees. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, friendly, and clearly working hard to provide good service. Their hospitality was the highlight of the trip and the main reason this review isn’t lower. We were also there for a wedding, and I will say the wedding itself was very well organized and executed. That said, many other aspects of the stay were disappointing. The grounds were clean and generally well maintained, but the experience didn’t live up to what you would expect from a luxury all-inclusive resort. The food was mostly underwhelming. The breakfast buffet was actually quite good, but the rest of the food across the property was mediocre at best. The drinks were also extremely weak and often tasted watered down, which was disappointing for an all-inclusive resort. Entertainment was also lacking. The theater appeared mostly unused during our stay, and there were very few shows or activities in the evenings. It made the resort feel quieter and less lively than expected. Another issue was the constant presence of people around the property trying to sell things. We were approached repeatedly by vendors pushing souvenirs or services. Even more concerning, there were strange men approaching guests trying to talk them into buying drugs, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and not something you expect at a resort like this.
