This is an older but nice property with a nice beach. The room is a little outdated, but serves its purpose. The staff was friendly. The food is very authentic and offers something for everyone. You will need to drink fast or drink more to get the most out of the alcohol but the bartenders are nice. I would definitely stay again for the property, price and beach.

Great Family Spot

Our daughter chose this hotel for our Spring Break and they did well! We've done big resorts and it was nice to be at a spot where you can always find a lounge chair at the beach:)). We enjoyed our short stay!

The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The Mexican food is very tasty, the hotel is clean and good located. The air conditioning works very well, the beds are comfortable and the shower has a good stream of cold and hot water.

The area by the water was beautiful, definitely a smaller resort which was nice! Rooms were ok definitely needing renovations especially the washrooms. Room service was inconsistent regarding filling supplies the soap toilet paper etc. also inconsistent on times when room service comes. The hotel is clean and comfortable to stay. The staff are friendly, respectful and accomodating to our needs. The restaurant has great Mexican selections of foods and the servers are friendly and helpful. Our most favorite server is Lupe! He is awesome! We will definitely stay at Dos Playas again on our next vacation to Mexico!

Our stay was nice. The room was fine but the bathroom could use a facelift, it’s been awhile. The view was wonderful from our room. I do recommend an ocean view room if you can because the breeze is amazing.The beach was nice and there was shade in the afternoon from the buildings and trees. The food was good and of course the drinks were wonderful. The property was clean and the staff were very nice. It was a little noisy at times from the ferry and catamaran trips from the adjoining property but not enough to ruin your day. I would definitely book again as the value was worth it.

The pictures are NOT AT ALL what the room looks like. Our first night there we were put into a room with no running water, bugs everywhere, i was livid and extremely upset being in a foreign country away from home in a room that clearly did not match the pictures. It took 4 hours of me complaining to expedia and to the hotel to get moved to a room with liveable conditions. They also conveniently lost our reservation stating it was an all inclusive stay so we had to shell out an EXTRA 640 usd to gain access to the food and drinks we already paid for. The resort has nothing really to do besides drink and eat. You're kind of just shoved in a corner of the hotel zone. If we come back to cancun, we will be looking else where to stay. Aside from this, i will say the kitchen staff were extremely polite and gracious people. I appreciated their service. Which is why i gave it an extra star. Overall if you book this place prepare to be disappointed, ive stayed at less than ideal properties before many times. This was the grossest. The amount we ended up spending on buying the all inclusive option AGAIN. We could have gotten a nicer, more comfortable stay at another resort.

This was my family's first trip to Mexico and we didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and though we were too early for check in they got one of our rooms ready for us immediately and gave us our wrist bands to enjoy the bar while we waited for the other. While the property is old and a tad dated, it was clean and well maintained. The beach is fantastic with lots of loungers and nice sand. The food was great! Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner had different options and there was always something one of the pickier eaters in our group found they really liked. The staff was the highlight of the experience, everyone from roomkeepers, bartenders and even the security guards were friendly and very patient even with my very limited Spanish (most of the staff spoke better english than I do spanish) Guadalupe in particular made our time at the buffet so good. He immediately took to doting on my family each time we arrived for a meal, making sure we had everything we needed, including making sure my tequila never ran dry. At the end of the trip, him and I parted with a handshake and a hug and that alone was enough to make me want to come back to Maya Caribe. Tip the staff, get your expectations in check that this isn't a 5 star resort but an incredibly cozy and authentic feeling gem and you'll have a great time.

We would have liked more Mexican meals, we were in Mexico after all! But the food was good and a good variety. The part that we stayed in was older and I loved the charm of that except for the doors that did not seem at all secure! Otherwise we loved it! The grounds are beautiful. The beach is right there, with lovely sand. No shells though if you like to find them. The balcony with hammock was a favorite. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The staff were amazing! But The resort desperately needs an upgrade! Rooms are very old, towels dingy, bed sheets did not look new or fresh, the telephone phones in the rooms do not work if you need assistance with anything you have to walk over to the main lobby. No elevators just steps, the food was just ok.

The property itself was kept moderately clean except for the occasional bird poop on the walkways. The food was okay and there was lots to choose from. The staff were nice and respectful. There is no airport shuttle included and if you do not pick a room with food included you have to pay extra. On the first arrival you have to pay additional fees for the stay at the hotel around $4 a night. The actual hotel rooms are outdated and look way different from the picture. This place although a bit pricey had a low budget look and feel to it.
