"The hotel is up a steep sloping street and in a quiet area. It has a traditional feel and the cafe is really nice and the hot springs, however there is no view, unless you pay for the private baths upstairs. The whole place could use a bit of a facelift, but more of an issue was the lack of service and the quality of the food, particularly dinner. We arrived too late for the 6:30 seating and was given the 7:00 p.m. seating. Clearly the appetizer box had been sitting out for a long time and...

"The room and reception were wonderful, and the staff provided excellent, hospitable service.
However, the shuttle bus service from Yugawara Station was very disappointing. I waited for 15 minutes at the instructed location, but the bus never stopped. It drove through the rotary so quickly that I didn't even see it coming and had no chance to board.
A tip for future guests: To avoid this issue, I highly recommend calling the hotel on your travel day to reconfirm the exact shuttle pickup time...

"Best part was being surrounded by nature. We love the pieces of art inside the house and the beautiful garden. I can’t get over how stunning the garden is! Very well layed out. The outdoor onsen allows one to be with nature while relaxing in the HOT spring water. "

"This was a beautiful property. Everything was clean, updated, and easy to find. The host left a very helpful instructional booklet describing how to use all of the amenities, and even instructions on how to best prepare the food. "The stay was incredible! My friends and I had the most amazing girls getaway here. The service was incredible, and I think that the quality was great for the cost.
