"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Great views of the lake and Fuji. The lift to the top of Mt. Hakone was an easy walk, and the hotel offers frequent buses to the town and Odawara station. The room was cool and well kept, and we enjoyed the restaurant and unique architecture."

"The property and the rooms are lovely. The location is pretty and very quiet. There is, unfortunately, almost nothing there. No stores and few restaurants (with bizarre limited hours of operation). During the middle of the day it is no problem as the pirate ship dock and the gondola are right there (and a gift shop, and a restaurant for breakfast and lunch- not open for supper sadly). Evenings are a nightmare if you don’t have food with you and you did not come by car. Heads up: the beds are comfortable but the futons in the loft are like sleeping on the floor… Fine for skinny people and kids. If you’re an adult and if you’re more plus-sizes, you will be in pain. Stick with the beds. We would ABSOLUTELY stay there again. We enjoyed our stay. We would stay more days next time and explore Gora (over the mountain via gondola and down the funicular) and some other areas. And we would come prepared with food! Travel Tip for swimmers: you are not allowed to swim in the lake. Apparently the Japanese think it is too cold. (They need to meet more Vikings and Canadians… We love a cold plunge!)"
