I wish they had a pool with steps to get in and out of easier and I wish there was a way to limit people coming down to the pool at 6 and claiming chairs for the whole day. "This resort was so relaxing and serene. You have to remember it's in the jungle so there are bugs, all my bug bites were worth it! It was very peaceful. The weather was hot and humid so to have a private pool right in front of my room was so relaxing and felt wonderful. The food was outstanding and the hospitality was top notch. I would highly recommend and I will be back. I definitely got a reset and recharge and will return."

"Mahekal was the ideal resort for our trip for two. We wanted a relaxing beach resort vacation for our anniversary, and that is exactly what we found at Mahekal. We chose the garden palapas room. The palapas were beautiful and full of character, the gardens were lush and well-maintained, the food was good (Las Olas for breakfast or dinner, Fuego for dinner, and anywhere on 5th Ave for lunch), and all of the staff were very kind and helpful. Everyone’s smiling here and the wildlife and plants here...
