"This resort seemed like they wanted to pinch every penny they could. Service was the slowest I have ever seen, the food gave my wife salmonella, and the drinks were typically just okay. Resort was beautiful and well kept. Would not return, but not entirely bad experience. Just not great."

Barceló Bávaro Palace - All Inclusive

"My family's stay at Barcelo Bavaro Palace was overshadowed by a deeply disturbing incident involving my 14-year-old daughter. While at the resort, an adult male employee approached my daughter, who is a minor, and gave her his personal phone number. After she made it clear she was not interested, she reported that he continued pursuing her and even chased her as she attempted to get away from him. As a parent, this was frightening and completely unacceptable. I immediately reported the incident to resort management. I was informed that the employee had been terminated and that an investigation would be conducted, including a review of security camera footage. Management assured me they would keep me updated regarding the outcome of the investigation. Unfortunately, despite those promises, I never received any follow-up communication. Beyond this serious safety concern, the food quality throughout the resort was disappointing, with many meals lacking flavor and variety. We also encountered areas of the property that had an unpleasant sewage odor. However, the most important issue remains the safety of my daughter. No parent should have to worry about an adult employee giving a minor his phone number and then pursuing her around a resort. The lack of communication following such a serious incident only added to our frustration and concern. For that reason, I cannot recommend this resort to other families."

"Overall everything was good and our butler Alan was amazing and Sarita was very helpful. The issues that we had were 1. the television were in and out as far as server errors and 2. we had an issue with condensation in the living room of our suite. When we first arrived we complained about how cold the rooms were not knowing that the temperature they had the thermostat on helped control the condensation. We turned the thermostat off in our bedroom and had no issues with condensation so we couldn’t enjoy the living room area because it was to cold and we didn’t want to touch the thermostat again after maintenance told us why it needed to stay at 16c in order for us not to wake up to a wet floor so although we had a lovely suite we could only relax in our bedroom or balcony."
