We had a great time at Lopesan. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay for our family. The rooms and the property are well maintained and consistently clean, which we really appreciated. One thing that would have improved our experience is better communication from the staff about the full range of amenities. We only discovered areas like the Teatro and the water park by chance while walking around. A quick overview at check-in would have helped us make the most of everything the resort has to offer. Since this is a family-friendly resort, it would also be great to see a few more kid-friendly food options. While the food overall was good, having more variety tailored to younger guests would make it even better. The staff were friendly and welcoming, though they seemed a bit overwhelmed during peak dining times. At lunch and dinner, service could be a little slow, and we occasionally had to follow up more than once or grab items ourselves. That said, these were relatively minor points. Overall, our families had an amazing time, and we left with great memories. We would definitely consider coming back!

Las instalaciones muy bonitas y cómodas. Pero tiene tres puntos débiles. 1. La playa está invadida de embarcaciones por lo cual la zona de mar es muy pequeña y hay un olor permanente a gasolina. 2. Mucha gente en el hotel. Lo que hace complicado disfrutar una buena zona de la playa y de la piscina ni hablar. 3. El servicio del personal podría ser mejor.

My family and I just came home from a 6 night vacation stay. Let me start with the positives. The resort is very beautiful. From the time you walk into the restaurants and even the way they have the Blvd shopping area set up. The servers at the Mareas restaurant are the best. They are Super friendly and can't wait to make your dinner a success. Great Job staff. Also, the UNIQUE staff is very friendly. The BAD. The SERVICE!!!! The staff at this hotel are not friendly!!! Anytime I walked into the spa, check in, restaurants or bars people just are not friendly. Our check in with Oscar was horrible. He had no personality and even became rude. We had 2 rooms booked and I asked if the rooms could be together and he said "what did you book, if you didn't book them that way then you can't. We'll see". Before I arrived at the hotel I asked them if they could bring some balloons or flowers to our room before my wife's birthday and they said that would definitely take care of it. When I spoke to the concierge about it they told me they would take care of it (after showing them their email response to me). After checking in and going to our rooms at 4pm (check in is 3pm) we arrived at the hotel at 11am. There was nothing special in our room. Sad!!! Later I go to the spa and ask about a couples massage for my wife's birthday later in the week. The 2 young girls at the desk greet me with her head down and says how can I help you. As I try to book the messages I start to ask questions so

Tuvimos varias dificultades en la habitación, como una fuga de agua la primera noche y el segundo día no limpiaron nuestra habitación ni cambiaron las toallas (Fue reportado por la persona en el check out). El personal en general es muy respetuoso y atento, sin embargo vimos algunas practicas que no me parecieron correctas, como rellenar una botella de licor con otra de marca distinta. Se supone que es un hotel 4 diamantes y el precio esta por encima de muchos otros.

El hotel es espectacular. La playa ancha y limpia. Pero no tiene mar. Si te gusta nadar en el océano no es tu hotel. Ellos ponen unas botas muy cerca y todo el frente del hotel es lleno de botes de gasolina y entran a recoger muchas personas. Muy incómodo

The resort was clean including the beaches as well when we traveled here with friends in March 2026. We stayed 7 days and had a good time. Some negatives need to be mentioned. When you ate meals drinks would take a long time if they ever showed up at the buffet. We have just average food at best that all needed seasoning. No swim up bar…should’ve known that before hand but I have never been to a resort that had one. While we stayed there must have been 8-9 weddings which was areas blocked off on the resort we couldn’t walk through and that got roped off early for them to set up. Not the people getting married fault but maybe limit how many weddings at a time happens? It was not an inconvenience just odd where they had these set up… one was even at the buffet at the beach? Lots of people on the beach selling excursions, coconuts and random items. When I asked at check in if local vendors would set up while we were there he had no idea what I was talking about. On Thursday the day before we left they showed up during breakfast and sat up all day… one vendor said they show up every 15 days.. not sure how true that is. The shows and entertainment were not great. Very limited and honestly not that entertaining. We left one show and decided maybe let’s go bowling on the resort… all inclusive resort but you have to pay $54 to bowl? Lastly, our room was by the elevator and where housekeepers keep supplies so it was loud at 6-7am with slamming doors and loud guests at the elevators.

The hotel overall was average. The property itself is decent and relatively quiet, but the experience was brought down significantly by the service. Most of the staff came across as rude and unhelpful, often unwilling to take orders or assist when needed. On the first night, there was a leak in the room, which was disappointing and inconvenient. At the front desk, a staff member named Oscar even asked me for money, which felt highly inappropriate and unprofessional. The food was acceptable but very limited in variety, so it became repetitive quickly. There was also a misleading situation regarding “VIP” access. The resort tried to charge extra for a so-called private beach, which did not feel legitimate and came across as dishonest. Aside from that, the hotel is quiet, but almost too quiet. There is very little entertainment or activity, especially in the evenings, and it is not ideal for families with kids looking for engagement or fun. Overall, an average stay with several service and management issues that need improvement.

Got scared by some negative reviews and was very happy we didn’t listen, we had a great time and recommend it to our family. Food: I thought the food at the main buffet was alright but I think it just should’ve been a little warmer, but I had no issues with the taste or quality. The restaurant food was great and I really enjoyed the steakhouse and the French restaurant. My husband is still raving about the hibachi and he’s had the real thing in Japan! Funny enough I strongly preferred the food at the goldfish buffet over the main buffet, especially the grilled meats. If you have a sweet tooth like me any place to grab food at Lopesan will be paradise. The coffee at Bavaro was also excellent. Pools: Pools were amazing and loved the juice bar right by the main pool. Never had issues finding a chair by the pool or by the beach. My biggest complaint is that the pools close so early Room: There was a slight moist smell to our room but it wasn’t offensive and I really don’t think it was mold or anything like that. The room was beautiful and spacious and I loved the big private balcony with comfy outdoor seating. Service: the servers were not as smiley as I’m used to in Canada but they were always attentive kind and quick. I didn’t experience any wait times anywhere and I don’t really understand the complaints about the staff. Our room cleaning was a little inconsistent, sometimes our face towels or shower mat was not replaced but overall i thought it was fine.
