"Everything was great…from pools, amenities to food; buffet offered a lot of variety and the Asian restaurant was my fav. The snack bar also a fav especially the crepe station; staff were very friendly and provided great service. Housekeeping did an impeccable job. The resort is Very clean and lots of activities for everyone. Only thing is at night I could hear a lot of movement from the floors above me…sounded like ppl were working so made it hard to sleep,"

"I enjoyed my stay at the Occidental Costa Cancun despite a few problems which the staff attemped to address. Initially, I was allocated a room oppisite the pool and large speakers and I knew on arrival that this would not suit me as I prefer a quiet room away from loud music. With a little discussion, I was allocated another seaview room by a very nice suoervisor in a quiet part of the hotel. The location was perfect, the seaview was lovely but as I enteted the room, I noticed a smell of drains! particularly at the entrance. Staff sent someone to sort the problem out. They checked the shower drain, but the smell persisted up to my last day, today. I was a bit disappointed as this trip was a special treat to myself for a special birthday and I wanted everything to be perfect. Unfortunately it was not. Please sort out this problem in rolm 558 for the benefit of other guests and the hotels reputation. There were some good points however, the staff were always very helpful and polite , and the food was generally very tasty, with a good variety and the drinks are of good quality. The beach is small but sufficient, and there was generally a nice atmosphere in the hotel. There were also a range of activities on each day, snd evening shows which were ok."
