"My boyfriend and I had a great time here. The resort overall was very nice, although the room was definitely dated and felt a bit musty. We enjoyed the pickleball courts and the ocean pool. Unfortunately the resort was fully booked during our visit so the pools and beach were very busy. The ocean pool was a nice escape as it was adults only and more quiet. The food was good, our favourite was the Mexican restaurant and the taco bar. We loved the nature and animals and had an amazing time overall!"

"We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Hotel Xcaret Arte. We received to fill out the list of activities, and we did it, we said the reason to visit this hotel. The day of our anniversary we went to a restaurant for dinner and to celebrate, they asked if we are celebrating something and we told them, but nothing happen, no celebration, at least we expected a plate with piece of cake and letter say "Happy anniversary" or something, but nothing. For me I do not care, but for my wife is a big deal. We tried to do this kind of trip for the last five years and this is the first time that nothing happens, very disappointed. We have a picture where we celebrate with a piece of cake our anniversary each but not this time. I know Xcaret wants to charge for everything, but for a piece of cake saying Happy Anniversary is too much. And we left a Tip to the Waitress for nothing. And is worst when see a lot of videos from other people that celebrate birthdays of Anniversaries with those kinds of attentions that we did not have. "

"If you plan to stay at this resort, I highly recommend renting a car for your stay. If you don’t, you will be at the mercy of various aggressive salespeople who will quote you wildly different and inflated prices for any activities you might want to do in order to offer you ‘discounts’ if you agree to sit through the vacation club presentation. You will lose hours of your vacation to this harassment and will be subjected to some pretty nasty attitude if you dare to point out that their 30K (plus per person ‘food’ charges every trip) price tag for 25 years of vacations isn’t at all the amazing deal they claim it is. The resort grounds are beautifully maintained and the staff are wonderful - except for the front desk workers and the aforementioned salespeople. The beach has eroded a great deal but the sand is still nice and the water clear. However, this property is located at the end of a line of resorts along the same beach and is adjacent to a nature park which is home to crocodiles. The only reference to this danger are very small signs about wildlife at the edge of the beach. In early April, a guest was brutally attacked by a crocodile in the water in front of the resort. I found out about this just before our trip but we had already booked so I couldn’t change to a different hotel. I watched many couples wander off down the beach towards the park and no one from the staff warned them. The food is bad - the worst I’ve had at any resort I’ve stayed at."

"The hot tub in my room would not hold water. The omelettes were good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The scuba shop and dock were very convenient."

"Food is pretty bad. We got the all inclusive package and the food is just not good. Definitely don't try their bbq ribs. Also the breakfast buffet is not good either."

"This is a great resort. We upgraded to premium which we thought was definitely worth the price. I wish I could give 5 stars. The only downside was the food quality. We ended up dining out more than we planned and what with taxi fares and restaurant prices, it turned out to be a more expensive trip than anticipated. That said we did like the resort and beach. And the specialty restaurants were spot on. Lastly, I cannot say enough about the staff. Great people! Just increase the food quality and this could be top tier."

"Beautiful location and relaxing. Excellent choice of food and beverages. There are happy hour drinks at the two beach bars but the cocktails are not strong at all. Prices are in line with California."
