"Right after we checked in we were greeted by an afternoon manager who asked if we had stayed with them previously. Upon learning we hadn’t, he immediately invited us to a special “welcome breakfast” with a member of the staff, the following morning. He said he needed 20 usd per couple to reserve the invitation. We agreed and scheduled to meet at 8:30 the next morning.
In the morning, we arrived, meet with the manager at the desk, received our deposit money, and were escorted to the breakfast buffet by a young fellow.
Unfortunately the small talk turned into a timeshare pitch. Can’t believe this is still a thing.
If you play along and listen until the end, you’re rewarded with some “Monopoly money”. We found out (the hard way) that it really isn’t worth a tinker’s dam.
The food and drinks are pretty good as are the pools and beach (beware of wild animals). Our room, in bldg. 17 needed the air on the entire stay (the thermostat was programmed to be set only as cool as 21 degrees centigrade ("
