"We had a wonderful stay at El Cid Spa & Resort and loved having access to all three sections of the resort—it made exploring even more fun. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the pool activities and music created a lively atmosphere, and the food across all restaurants was delicious. We especially enjoyed the taco night with live music and drinks. The resort was also conveniently located just 10 minutes from downtown Puerto Morelos for shopping and exploring. There were a few hiccups during our stay. We signed up for a discounted package through the concierge but were not initially told it required attending a lengthy presentation, which took away valuable vacation time with our kids. We also had an issue with our first dinner reservation—the concierge told us it was booked for 8 PM, but when we arrived, there was no reservation in the system. We ended up waiting nearly an hour to be seated while traveling with tired and hungry children, and our son fell asleep before his meal even arrived. Despite these inconveniences, we still had a great time, made wonderful memories, and enjoyed our vacation overall."

"I really enjoyed this resort. Let me start with the positives, our butler Adrian, was AMAZING! I would absolutely recommend the "privileged" upgrade. Adrian helped us get into our restaurants, answered all our questions, and concerns. Totally worth it! -The adult pool staff, Francisco, Willy, Rodolfo, Navello (in the gym also) made our stay even better. They kept things fun and entertaining. The swim up bar, Miguel was good...some wait time, even with tipping, I feel they needed more bartenders- They have a shuttle, which helps to get from one side to the other quickly. Sakura restaurant, DELICIOUS. I honestly enjoyed the buffet more than the other sit down spots, but that is me. Alot of seafood options and I am not big on that. The restaurant by the beach had good pizza. The coffee and ice cream shop were awesome also. Down the beach there is a place to get CHEAP, really amazing massages on the beach, JADE SPA-I would highly recommend this! Right by there is also a very small tattoo place. I got a tattoo, right on the beach, very clean and does good work, ask for Iguana. Some negatives- -Workers were not as friendly as I have had at other resorts. For breakfast several times we would wait over 10 min to have a server. From previous experience this is unheard of. -The mattresses both bed and couch are in desperate need of replacement. -Bottom of pools are rough! -I shut my phone off, all events and menus are digital so this sucked I would come back!"

"Service and the crew were excellent. Room was clean but needs some upgrades . Mirror was old grey spots, bathroom and shower glass brown residue. Breakfast buffet is 2** absolutely not good. Taquitos was old, tamale’s dry. Waffles thick and tasteless. The other restaurants were fine. Definitely not even close quality like Live Aqua in Cancun."

"Resort is beautiful although wait times at the buffets were 15-20 min every morning for breakfast, we visited end of May and it was very crowded unfortunately. We ordered room service one night that we never received because they were too busy. Please know there’s no accessible beach on property and no eating allowed around the pools. If you like to order food around the pool while your little ones swim you have to visit a designated pool that it’s usually crowded because it’s the only one were food is allowed. Property is HUGE prepare to do a lot of walking because everything is far. One benefit of staying at Xcaret is the park entrance it’s included on your stay, so if you have a big family it’s convenient because even transportation is included to and from the parks and airport on your arrival and departure."
