Terrible hotel. Half the property is being remodeled and so construction everywhere. Staff not friendly like other resorts we have stayed at in the Riviera Maya. We didn't have running water in our room for half a day. Food was below average and the buffet was small and terrible. Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.

Loved the set up at the resort, very traditional buildings. Is older so definitely could use some upgrades. Main pool got quite noisy in the afternoon. All the staff were fantastic, always willing to help. Loved the staff in the Buffett. Great central lobby/bar area. Lots of seating and great area for entertainment in the evenings. Would definitely stay there again.

Throughout our entire stay the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I never expect things to be perfect because that is life. There was a problem with the door stopper (that mechanism that only lets the door open an inch) that they replaced, and the shower arm was loose, they replaced a part. The location continued to check and make sure that our room and standards were being met. The food had a good rotation with the restaurants. We ordered room service at least once a day and if I did not like something I would put in notes next time and get it made the way I liked. The night shows (One Man Show, Vegas Show, and Masquerade Show) were all top notch. The foam party was fun. Being Expedia VIP members we got upgraded and a bottle of champagne. We planned ahead so we chose this space for the location right next to 5th avenue and the pools. The end of sargasm season was there and still in the water and smell at times. This was known so not an issue with us. They work hard to keep the areas clean. The thermal spa was great and relaxing. My wife got two massages while I used the thermal spa. I enjoyed the sauna, steam room, cold plunge and hot tubs. One of the best things is being adults only. I highly recommend the Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen
