"A beautiful home in a great location for exploring the New Forest . The property is very well equipped and clean and the welcome box a delightful surprise. The garden is well kept and peaceful. Communications with our hosts were excellent. We hope to return next year."

"Vastly overpriced and understaffed for what it is. Reminded me of a 1970's idea of what a reasonable hotel was. Positives: the staff are great but not enough of them. If they're on minimum wage it's criminal, they were so busy and deserve a LOT more. Negatives: Executive room, really? Separate toilet and bathroom with 1970's rendering on the walls. The TV is one step up from Cathode ray tubes, no casting here! Air con? Nope, you get a fan, in any colour as long as its white! Restaurant, apparently opens at 6pm but no-one there til 6.45. Gave up and went to the local Italian. Breakfast, nearly £20 per person and one, yes 1 Coffee machine for a restaurant that looks like it accommodates 100+. We waited nearly 15 minutes for Coffee by which time our breakfast was cold. The hotels one and only redeeming feature is it proximity to the docks. That's it. And at £260 per night per room you know it's a scam. Avoid, stay further out of town and use the short stay car parks by the docks."

"The hotel is very strange and you have to check in online then you get given a code walk to your room and on the wall next to your room is a lockbox where you enter that code to get your key to get into the room all of that takes a very long time and it feels more like a Airbnb rental than an actual hotel. The bar has no drinks to sell and we soon found out in the town that the hotel has recently shut down and reopened under new ownership. My hunch would be the new owners have never run a hotel before."

"Beautiful location - from which one really does step out into the New Forest itself; I'd read other reviews but hadn't quite grasped how "in the forest" it feels from the front - this really helped make the trip special for our party. The house itself is lovely - we really didn't want for anything during our stay. The layout is well designed; a large, well equipped kitchen/ dining room became our main social space, though the living room is also very comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms are a very good size with comfortable beds. There's a slightly smaller twin room downstairs, which is still very comfortable for two. Communications with the owner, Jane, were fast and friendly. I can recommend this accommodation without reservation - it is superb - thank you Jane."

The host was friendly and responsive, also providing a welcome folder with lots of useful information about the house and the surrounding area. We thoroughly recommend this property!"
