Melia Caribe Beach Resort - All Inclusive

6/10 Okay

"Meliá Caribe was just ok. The staff was super friendly, the resort did a great job with providing transportation around the resort, the rooms were cleaned daily, the pools were nice. Luckily our room was close to the pool and beach and we had a second floor room with a high roof. The resort has a ton of restaurants but reservations are impossible to get, at least in the restaurants that are edible. We had to eat at the buffets for almost every meal until we couldn’t take it anymore. We went off resort to a highly rated restaurant and the food was FINALLY enjoyable. Truly - the food was some of the worst I’ve had. And I do understand that with all inclusive resorts, the food isn’t high quality. Over all - we won’t be back. It wasn’t the worst resort we’ve been to, but there was nothing special about this one. It was a disappointing food experience and restaurant reservation experience we’ve ever had at a resort. "

"Room is just ok, better detail on cleaning. We had the ocean view swim up. $1600 a night is a little steep. The resort however is absolutely amazing. Best staff, great meals, great drinks, beautiful grounds, plenty of stuff to do, beach is unreal and looks fake. Would definitely recommend Hyatt Zilara to anyone. Great place just bring price down a little and it would be the best"

"Not pet friendly. But pets are allowed. After several employees of the hotel warned me that “my dog was not allowed to leave the room during our stay”, I went to the reception to clarify. She confirmed that the employees were mistaken and that he could leave the room to relieve himself, but only if he was basically out of sight of any potential guests to come in contact with him. She suggested I use the service entrance. Our dog is part of our family, we don’t go through the trouble of traveling with him so we can abandon him in the hotel room, or sneak him through service entrances. Very nice (beautiful) hotel. Breakfast buffet is amazing. $30 suntan lotion in the store and the food is also very expensive. Staff could be more friendly. NOT PET FRIENDLY "

"Really amazing stay! A special thank you to Franlin Cordero, our private concierge at Sunscape Coco. Franlin was very attentive and genuine. Very personable, quick to respond and helped us around the hotel and organised many activities for us. Would highly recommend him. Thank you Franlin ❤️"

10/10 Excellent

"The many pools are excellent, with the swim-up wet bar being the premier place to be as long as you are early enough to claim a lounge chair. The staff are all extremely friendly and will remember guests to offer friendly banter and know what you are planning on ordering. The ac in the rooms was top notch, where I had to turn it off for a bit because I was getting too cold. If you have the option to upgrade to a swim out poolside room I would suggest it."
