We had to pay GBP50 per night (a discounted rate we were told) to upgrade to a room with a queen size bed and were not offered a free upgrade."

The room was comfortable and gym was good. We cut our stay short to stay closer to the sights and the staff was incredibly gracious about the change. Thank you for having us!"

"I was attending a 2 day conference at Excel and travelling alone, so felt safe if I had to return alone in the evening. Staff were super helpful. I had a "take away" my first evening and in the mornings they were happy to freshly poach eggs for me. On the second evening I went to a nearby Chinese restaurant with colleagues. Unfortunately the Excel building was locked and I had to walk around the outside to get to the hotel. I had walked almost the full length of the path when I came to a fence...
