Kyotoの2 Starsホテル

"1) Fridge was not cold at all 2) Public bath was out of service and it doesn't seem that the hotel owner planned to renovate anytime soon 3) There was only one room key 4) The drying machine was not cleaned/maintained properly by the staff, so our clothes were still wet after an hour's drying. We paid about 40,000 yen per night for this terrible service and facility, and I'm wondering why the hotel has the audacity to claim itself a 3-star? "

"The staff are so lovely and helpful, and the rooms are cosy and comfortable It is a little too far on foot to main areas, so have to rely on transport, which can be a little annoying but location is still relatively close The only feedback is no laundry services available through the hotel, but there is a little laundromat down the road. It does cost a fair bit and takes an hour away of your time, so it is inconvenient and I hope they will consider adding this as a service in future...

"Staff were very kind, willing to make a phone call on our behalf when I was ill. Public bath is very nice, quiet, and clean. They offer an abundance of shampoos and soaps. The rooms were small, but cozy. Didn't hear any noise from others."

"Was apprehensive about staying in a capsule hotel, The Millennial changed this. I loved the ipod managed units especially the bed to sofa function, projector and the individual fans. Guests were very respectful and quiet at night so slept well. From checking in to out, staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Free tea and coffee, beer and snacks in the evening, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful communal areas, books and other thoughtful little details all contributed to a wonderful stay...

"Room was a bit larger for Japanese standard but no fridge. Shower was amazing! Check in was automated which was neat. 7-11 in the building for ease. Bus stop and train very close. Commons room very neat with kitchen and games and had outdoor patio that was amazing. Breakfast breads were tasty. Decor was cute as well. "

"Booked deluxe double room, had a kitchen area with microwave, fridge, sink, and water kettle. A toilet room that is separate from the bathroom which had a laundry. Then a room with the bed small sofa and tv. Room fit all our bags (2 large, two medium carry on, and 2 backpacks. Space was comfortable and good. There is computer screen for check in and check out but if you need help, you can use the phone and call for staff. Overall good experience in a quiet area. "

"Loved this hotel! It was very close to Kiyomizu-dera temple, just a short walk away. Also very close to the bus stop. The front desk was very helpful in ordering taxis or asking questions. They were very nice and easy to talk to. Would definitely stay again. "

"It was a great hotel, it was cheap and very clean. The staff were patient and considerate. The fact that there was even an option for single person rooms was awesome. Good option for those of us who don't exactly make a lot. Sometimes, I walk past the building because the buildings are so packed together, it's noticeable enough to identify it though. It has the lettering right above the building."

"We had a wonderful stay here for 4 nights. Clean, comfortable and nice kitchen/communal space. Quiet area but very well connected with Kyoto Station 5 minute walk away - Metro, JR and Shinkansen. Also opposite the station is the main bus station as pickup point for day tours which was very convenient. Our only issue was that the washing machines and driers are sat outside right in the designated smoking area - so our clothes smelt terrible, hopefully they can fix this going forward and it...

"Tucked away in the most beautiful street this place was a real gem, it’s a decent walking distance to most everywhere in Kyoto if your like me and a 50 minute walk doesn’t bother you. The staff are super friendly and understanding of an accident that happened in the room and no extra charge was given too us. 100/10 stay!!!!"

"Beautiful hostel. Makes for a nice home base. Very central to a lot of shopping, but still on a quiet street. The train is close, so day excursions to tourist hotspots are extremely easy."

"Great stay at The General Kyoto - an easy 15 minute walk to a great dining/restaurant area and the Gion District. Clean, comfortable, well-appointed room and a nice bonus of a Lounge with free (!) drinks and snacks during the day and cocktails, snacks & desserts at night."

"A good experience, though in the mornings our room would fill with a faint food smell. Presumably from the restaurant directly beside the hotel, even though our windows were always closed."
