Note that Momijiya consist of two different accomodations: the main building up by the road (Honkan Sansou), and a more exclusive annex down by the river (Bekkan Kawa No Iori. "It is a 20 min taxi drive out of kyoto which costs around 5,000 yen. The properly is a very old building. However because it is a traditional ryokan, it fits that image and hence it's fine. Do include the full board option where they take you to a riverside location 5 min away on a shuttle bus. That location is spectacular for a kaseki meal.
