I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei. First, it was luxurious, new, clean, well staffed and convenient to all of Kyoto sightseeing. Second, the intimate luxury accomodations were neither too small or too large. We got to know all personnel by name. Management was very chill and accommodated our every request. The NEST at Nishiki is both a new and an exceptional property. The rooms were spotless and functional, the staff was extremely attentive, and the location was just perfect--steps from the Nishiki Market and the Gion district. Yet the single most outstanding feature of the NEST at Nishiki is its manager, Ms. Chie Nakamura. She is professional, knowledgeable, a top-notch hotelier, and a wonderful person. I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are located—it offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. I’d definitely come back!

This is a modern hotel in a great location, located on top of a subway station only 4 stops without transfer from Kyoto Station. The subway and bus options are very convenient. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance and of course several Seven's and a nice grocery store nearby. The beds are comfortably and the Nespresso machines were great. This hotel was the best out of the hotels we stayed at on our two week trip (3 hotels total). If you’re looking for a great hotel in Kyoto it’s this hotel. Room was clean and beautiful. Bed was excellent (all other beds we slept on were hard and bad). Bathroom was great! Close to the subway and bus stop (use the bus - super easy, fast and clean). Next door to convenience store (very helpful). Blocks from Kyoto station (also very helpful). One block from a beautiful shrine. Coin-op laundromat...

Great little hotel. Very quiet and calm. Great showers. Lots of pastries and drinks, which solved the problem of breakfast, especially for us, as we woke up at 5 am most days. (We noticed that some guests filled up bags of croissants after checking out, which was really sad to see, as they just emptied out the box of pastries into a plastic bag and left other guests nothing.) there is a 7/11 and a metro line right next to it. And some nice restaurants around too.
