"Staff was very friendly and helpful. Note it looks like a small takeout restaurant when you look in the door, but there is a wooden sign out front that says guesthouse in small letters. Each floor is a separate room. Good WiFi. Many small paid parking lots within a block of the property. Many restaurants nearby. "

"Everything was perfect and as expected! Please keep in mind that the rooms are small, but that is expected in the city. Breakfast buffet was amazing, and conveniently located near 7/11, and the Tambaguchi Station. They have a public onsen, but I didn’t get the chance to use it since I have tattoos (I want to respect and be courteous of policies). "Lovely place to stay, a little out of the way of central Kyoto but still would recommend a stay. Washing machine in the room was super helpful, there's even a machine to get washing liquid capsules in the lobby. Walking distance to a launderette if needed for drying clothes. We got the address wrong on our luggage we had forwarded and the Rest Inn was able to call up and get it sorted for us. It was delivered within a few hours."

This is the easiest place to be in Kyoto if you want to get around. Nijo Castle, the imperial compound, is just to the north, and the Golden Pavilion is a short bus ride away. "

"The hotel was very conviently located about a 25 minute walk from the main areas of kyoto. It was also close to the train eaten station. Overall the stay was very pleasant. The included breakfast of rice porridge was simple but nourishing. The rooms are compact and the only issue was the water temperature in the shower would occasionally drop to a colder temperature."

"We felt absolutely spoiled here. The room was spacious, spotless, and so comfortable. Easy to find cabs and the bus was just outside giving easy access. Good restaurants within walking distance though not in the thick of things. Definitely recommend."

"Very good location, close to a convenient train station, 8 minutes ( when taking the local train ) from Kyoto station. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Careful with train and bus times when getting back late , as the local train stops before midnight. An Uber ride from Kyoto station may be around US 23. "It was really clean and spacious. Plus the location was excellent since you can easily go out to eat at any famous place along Shijo st. Also the access is good . You can travel from the nearby bus stop or the station to any tourist places in Kyoto. "
