"Beautiful location with an excellent staff"

"Absolutely loved staying here!! Perfect blend of comfort and traditional, would definitely stay again!!"

"Wonderful location and environment, good food and staff"

"Right across from the Kyoto main train station. And a real ryokan! The staff were so polite and respectful and helpful. Of course for westerners was a bit uncomfortable sleeping on the floor on futons but something you have to try for Japan! This hotel has an old world charm and the attentions at breakfast made us feel very welcome and special"

"Staff was very friendly and area was very nice. Onsen was very nice and a big positive was also tattoo friendly"

"Our stay was perfect! The private onsen’s were amazing and the staff is really friendly and helpful! I recommend this for anyone looking to have a wonderful time in kyoto :)"

"The staff was very helpful. The place is closer to the woods, but still in a residential area. It was a pleasant experience."

"Half-board food was amazing. We stayed 3 nights and it was different every day."

"That’s a Ryokan with all the associated Japanese experience. The only somewhat negative is location - not close to any local dining or public transportation (a free shuttle in the morning helps though)."

"Delicious breakfast, lovely, kind and helpful staff, peaceful and comfortable lodging, and amazing location! Really the highlight of our visit to Japan! Would highly recommend!"

"The room is very clean, and plenty of space consider it's in Japan where most hotel room are small, the hot bath is very nice and clean. Service is excellent, breakfast was very good."

"Great Ryokan in Kyoto to get a feel for a traditional place to stay. We stayed one night with a family of four and there was a lot of space. Staff was very welcoming and helpful."
