"The house was large and comfortable with lots of great spaces. It was very clean, spacious, and exactly what the listing promised. We had a small issue when we were using the stove as it ran out of gas but it was resolved promptly by the host.Loved the area as it was close the El Yunque National Forest and it was very peaceful to be around nature. "Without a doubt, our stay at Mata ‘e Platano was amazing! The photos don’t do this property justice—it is even more breathtaking in person. The landscaping and outdoor spaces are beautiful, tranquil, and exceptionally well maintained. The lo-fi music playing throughout the property created the perfect zen atmosphere. The location was ideal: close to El Yunque, beaches, restaurants, and everything we wanted to explore, yet secluded enough to feel peaceful and private. We loved spending our time by the pool, reading, and simply enjoying the serenity. It’s truly perfect for adults looking to relax and disconnect. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the recommendations provided by the property were a wonderful touch. We followed their beach recommendation and visited San Miguel Beach, a remote and absolutely fantastic beach that became one of the highlights of our trip. We were lucky enough to have the entire property to ourselves. Check-in was easy with the access code, and having the gate key made coming and going convenient. And the sweetest surprise? Meeting the neighbors’ two adorable Schnauzers! 🐶 They definitely made our stay even more memorable. Mata ‘e Platano truly feels like a little piece of heaven. If you’re visiting Fajardo and want a beautiful, serene escape close to everything but away from the crowds, don’t miss this place! We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!"

"The home has 3 bedrooms inside the main house. The other 2 bedrooms are accessible only via outside. We traveled with 2 families, so this setup was ideal for us. It is located at the end of the road, in the rainforest. Including a creek that runs right beside the house. The neon flowers amongst the lush green backdrop makes this property so dreamy. The sounds were so peaceful! If you park at the bottom gate, where the pool is located, it is a significant amount of stairs up to the house. If you park at the top gate, there are no stairs to house, just a walkway, so much easier. It’s in a great location, only 7 min from shops & restaurants. 30-40 min to San Juan or to 7 Seas. The only negative experience was that home wasn’t ready at check in time and it was a bit dirty. Manager was responsive to messages. All in all, definitely recommend for a unique & fun stay!"
