Upon arrival at this resort, we were shocked to discover that there was no usable beach. The overwhelming stench of rotting seaweed made it nearly impossible to enjoy the shoreline. While the staff claimed this is a common issue in Cancun, I’ve visited the area before and had never experienced it to this extreme. It was truly intolerable.
The pools were acceptable, but even here there were issues—getting a towel was unnecessarily difficult. Despite the towel stations being advertised as open until 6 p.m., they consistently refused to hand out towels after 5, claiming it was “too late.”
Another major inconvenience was the resort’s restrictive Wi-Fi policy. Our booking was for four people, yet they only provided two passwords for two devices. Once a device was connected, it couldn’t be switched. When I explained the situation, the staff offered no help and simply said additional passwords would cost $60 each. I pointed out that Expedia lists “free Wi-Fi in rooms” as an amenity, but their only response was that Expedia was wrong and I should take it up with them—no effort was made to resolve the issue on site.
One particularly frustrating moment occurred at one of the restaurants. We were turned away because my son’s clothes were slightly damp from the rain. After changing and returning, we saw other guests entering straight from the pool in swimsuits and towels. When we asked why we had been treated differently, there was no explanation—just more indifference.
