I have seen a couple people complain about dinner reservations, if you use the app you can book all your dinners in one night, we had no issues and ate at a restaurant every night. "Hotel was very good. Buffet unbelievable - so much food. Beach not good, very hard to go in the water (stones, rocks) lots of seaweeds. Should be cleaned out. Pools very good."

Meals and housekeeping are all taken care of while you enjoy the sea, the pool, or your own balcony space. Each building of the property includes its own concierge, who delights in making your stay as magical as can be (Shout out to Esther! She was most wonderful to us). Many great classes and entertainment options are included at no cost. All in all, we had nothing to list as a "con", it was a big batch of "pros". As an aside, this property works with Amstar Transportation services for bringing people to and from the airport. You can book through the hotel or directly, and we found their service to be good as well. "

"I loved the food at the Don Rafael buffet. The staff at this resort were amazing and friendly. The entertainment was great, I just wish there had been more nights like the salsa dancing night rather than American-ized music most nights, but I understand they probably get more crowd engagement with American music. "

"We love Occidental at Xcaret because we love seeing wildlife when we travel. We also love seeing ruins and learning about the early history. The resort is beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful and there are plenty of food choices. We are vegan, so enjoy the many vegetables, fruits, beans and grains available. We also loved snorkeling in the circular stone ocean inlet. So many fish, corals, anemones in a protected area."
