Take a ferry trip across Waitemata Harbour and in just 10 minutes you’ll find yourself in the charming suburb of Devonport. Devonport is located at the southern tip of Auckland’s North Shore. Historically, the area was a popular holiday retreat for city dwellers. The arrival of regular, high-speed ferries and better infrastructure has meant that Devonport is now very much a commuter suburb, but it still retains much of its holiday-feel charm and is a popular day-trip destination with locals and visitors alike.
