I really enjoyed the welcoming front office staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious and unfortunately they were out of nonsmoking rooms so we had to book a smoking room We wish there were more nonsmoking rooms available. But everything else was amazing. We will definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to our friends.

SUGOI! Amazing service.

This place was amazing from the moment we arrived. Taking your shoes off upon arrival is a must (as it is in most Japanese Places). Our bags were carried up to our room and we were served green tea. We were told about the amenities and even walked down to the onsens available. We had a room with our own hot spring tub on the balcony which I recommend that you book. The views of the lush green trees and mountains made for a picturesque and relaxing backdrop. The dinner and breakfast...

Very approachable for a more cultural, traditional experience. Was very easy for an American foreigner like myself to have a truly authentic experience. Staff is incredibly hospitable, helpful, patient, and capable. My first ryokan experience that I have Yusakaso to thank. Quality onsens, extraordinarily clean.

A beautiful old and authentic ryokan experience. Lovely service, staff and onsen! I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone who appreciates the Japanese culture and traditions.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. We had a disastrous experience with another Hakone hotel (see my other review). As a result, we booked this hotel only the night before to get a true Hakone Ryokan experience. we reached this hotel around 11:30 am with our 5-month-old drenched in rain. The owner immediately got out, greeted us, offered tea, and gave us a chance to dry out. She also had the hotel shuttle drop us to Hakone Open Air Museum while she prepared our room. She allowed us to...

Actual property and room were amazing. It was very large for Japan and everything was new. It felt like a nice modern apartment but had a sauna, onsen, and footbath! Onsen was very nice and while not outside, you could open the large window for some cool air. The room really was far beyond my expectations. Now the location was okay - it was next to a busy/noisy street and while near some hills, plenty of power lines before you could see it. It was a short walk to the station, but there was...

An incredibly relaxing, cozy, and peaceful stay. Surrounded by lush greenery outside every window, soaking in the open-air hot spring that warms both body and soul, and strolling along flower-lined paths through the hills to discover Hakone's most breathtaking scenery. A truly unforgettable retreat.

Great view of Mt.Fuji.

Beautiful property, great view, very nice and helpful staff, good price as well.

Fantastic selection at buffet breakfast . Wonderful Onsen

I was originally worried because of the lack of reviews on Expedia, but the hotel was truly very beautiful. The rooms are very quiet and clean, and the hotel is right across the street from a 7-11, so you can get meals there if you need to. Transportation was a little tough, as there was not many trains, but there was a bus stop right outside the hotel which was convenient.

Highly recommended, I love the welcome service at the Bar, the breakfast, the room and the service.. location is very convinient.. but I suggest you better drop by the convinient store near the station if you need some extra stuff before you proceed to the hotel..because there is non close to the hotel. Overall all … GREAT HOTEL

We had a wonderful stay at Yushintei. The traditional Japanese style rooms were absolutely great, spacious, comfortable, and provided an authentic experience. A major highlight was the natural hot spring spa (onsen), which was a fantastic addition to unwind after a long day of walking. The entire hotel was exceptionally nice and clean throughout. Just keep in mind that the local shops and other eateries require a minimum 10-15 minute walk from the property.

Serene and beautiful. The food was delicious…each presentation a work of art. To be able to go to the dining for breakfast and for dinner in the pajamas, that were provided fresh each day, was a treat and added to the R & R. The hot springs soaking tub on the balcony of our room was pure heaven.

In-room onsen was amazing. Had to rinse it off first though because it looked pretty worn and had leaves and a few insects in it. No issues though. Felt amazing in the onsen. Way better than having to use the public one and had a great outdoor view of Mt Fuji in the background. Outdoor shower had way better pressure than bathroom shower.
