Mexico and Central America Cheap Vacations

We stayed for two nights before flying home from our Tulum vacation. PROS: 1. Location close to airport, not in the busy part of the Hotel Zone. 2. Grounds and pools were beautiful and well maintained. 3. Staff were welcoming and courteous. 4. We ate dinner at the Sea and Stones restaurant which had a lovely seaside patio and our waiter was wonderful. My partner enjoyed his pasta carbonara but my tandoori grilled fish was very salty. 5. Breakfast buffet was lovely. I added the option when booking the room and it was a fraction of the price compared to paying at the resort. We also appreciated that it was open until 11 am. CONS: 1. Rooms are quite a trek from the lobby and the route was confusing with minimal signage. 2. The light bulbs in our room were that sterile bright-white type which felt cold and uncomfortable. We ended up using the TV screen for ambient room lighting. It’s a small detail, but to us it made a big difference. 3. The on-site ATM only dispensed US dollars. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying at the Westin Resort and Spa.

Room was clean, staff wasn’t very amicable and the food was most of the time cold in the buffet and we could only make 2 restaurant reservations for our whole stay there is only 2 buffet restaurants for all the people in hotel and only one of those was open for dinner, won’t be back to the hotel! There was several couples that saw the same things we did and they weren’t happy either
