Cabo San Lucas

Sunny Los Cabos is a resort area on the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico. The region has two distinct parts: Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. These two cities stand on either side of The Corridor, a 20-mile (32-kilometer) highway surrounded by championship golf courses and world-class resorts. Dance or shop in upbeat Cabo San Lucas or walk the old streets of San José del Cabo for a more traditional experience. After you’ve taken in the sights on land, be sure to enjoy Los Cabos’ proximity to the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the sheltered Sea of Cortez, which separates the peninsula from mainland Mexico.

Drive along The Corridor to Cabo San Lucas and spend a few days in a luxury spa resort or an afternoon at the Marina Cabo San Lucas. Charter a luxury yacht, book a whale-watching cruise or snack on shrimp tacos before dancing the night away.

Step back in time at San José del Cabo. Walk the cobblestone streets and visit art galleries and museums to get a glimpse of authentic Mexico. Don’t miss the Old Jesuit Mission, a historic Spanish-style church. The estuary is great for birdwatching.

Once hailed by Jacques Cousteau as “the aquarium of the world,” the Sea of Cortez is home to a diverse marine ecosystem and Los Cabos is the perfect base from which to explore it. Swim with smart mammals at Cabo Dolphins, snorkel or scuba dive at Cabo San Lucas or head to the eco-friendly Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park with living reefs and tropical fish.

For a relaxing day out, cruise on a glass-bottom boat to the majestic El Arco, the rock formation that forms a natural arch, marking Land’s End. Hop out of the boat at low tide and stroll along Playa Del Amor (Lover’s Beach).

To reach Los Cabos, you can fly into San José del Cabo or drive from San Diego. Los Cabos is warm year-round, so it’s also a popular winter destination.
