Loved this property and onsen! After spending the last two weeks walking all over Tokyo this was a wonderful way to relax! Part of the onsen is outside and overlooks the water. The harbor and Chinatown make it a great area to explore.

The hotel should give notice to guests at reservation how to take shuttle bus from either bus station or train station to the hotel as the hotel is on a hill.

Staying here was very pleasant.
After checking in, we reserved one of the private baths (Reservations are for 45 minutes, and one reservation can be made at a time,) and headed down to the town to walk around. The walk from the hotel to the station at the bottom/central area of town is about ten or fifteen minutes. The town has small shops with local treats, but we only walked around it for two hours and felt like we weren't missing anything major.

Hotel Goshobo truly envelops you in the history and tradition of a Ryoukan. The staff are super serious about their presentation and very very friendly. A stay here even for a single night is highly recommended.

Our stay at the Negiya Ryofukaku was nothing short of excellent. The staff were very professional and polite, accommodating both our very limited Japanese language skills and our request for a larger yukata (I'm apparently taller than the average guest). They do have english-speakers on staff, and the guide who walked us through the hotel's facilities and amenities was kind enough to explain everything in both Japanese and English, as we were trying to learn as much of the former and speak as...

Must take the train car (not covered by JR) to this location from JR Sannomiya Station. 10 minute walk up a steep hill from the Arimaonsen Station to the hotel. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and accommodating. Spoke English well enough to check in and get help that we needed. Offered hotel room and onsen instructions in English. My room had a private onsen in the restroom so I didn't need to be concerned with using the 7F public onsen. They provide a private onsen to be rented/booked for a...

This is an excellent, upscale property that really takes good care of guests. The room we stayed in was very large, especially compared to normal Japanese hotels. The hot spring is well maintained, and the dinner was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Motoyu Ryuusenkaku is not a very luxxrious resort in Arima Onsen area, but the hotel staff is really welcome to clients from worldwide. They introuduced every facility after checking in. I especially enjoyed the dinner they prepared.

The hotel well maintained and clean, both kaiseki dinner and breakfast was excellent. Onsen have 1st floor indoor ginsen & kinsen for hotel guests, 2nd indoor/3rd open air bath open for public. Staff very attentive and helpful especially for shuttle bus and helping me to get to the bus station and catching the correct bus.
When check in, they really patient to explain each floor amenities and dinner/breakfast location, also there's welcome drink lounge self serve. I'll definitely stay again on...

A nice option for a ryokan stay in Arima-Onsen. The ryokan is very nice, the lobby itself is decorated in western style although the rooms are tatami. Kotori has an private indoor bath with a silver onsen, the gold onsen is a public bath located on the roof level at Hanamusubi, their sister hotel down the street and is free to use for Kotori guests. Dinner and breakfast were both traditional Japanese style meals and were very impressively presented and delicious. Dinner is served at Hanamusubi...
