This is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a quiet neighborhood without the mobs of tourists. The building is beautiful and quite sprawling. I was on the 2nd floor and had incredible views of Dean village. On clear days you can see quite far beyond the city into the mountains and sea. Driving up to the hotel I instantly fell in love with this place. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is wonderful. We were arriving late and the hotel arranged for us to have sandwiches waiting which was perfect. Peebles is adorable town nearby and recommend a visit. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

WOW!! This rental was amazing. We do weekly rentals a lot and this was probably the best we have ever stayed in. It was a full size apartment, a full living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It was large enough that a couple could easily live there full time. Everything was clean and well decorated. The host even left us a welcome note and a bottle of wine. This was the perfect place to stay for myself, my daughter and her two small children ages 8 months and almost 3. It was a very central location and within walking distance of the Grass market,Chamber Street museum, Royal Mile, the Castle, the Meadows, Princes street gardens , George street and St Andrews square - perfect for walking. Nice hotel, not quaint or Scottish, but nice. I am not sure if they used any insulation between rooms as we could hear the neighbors conversations quite well and the TV from about 4 rooms down.

Amazing, quaint hotel that also still serves as the Royal Scots Club. Located in a more quiet part of New Town, yet only a few blocks away from St. Andrews Square, Princes Street & Stockbridge. Hotel atmosphere might be a bit too settled for families with small children or younger partygoers & clubberers, everyone else who is looking for a nice and quiet retreat from the hectic and tourist filled city and a friendly, personal staff should not get disappointed.

The Black Ivy was so cute! The restaurant is great and it’s nice to have breakfast in your hotel and the rooms are super clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The only thing I would say is that the hot water for the shower was not very hot (to be fair I like it basically the temp of the surface of the sun) but it was above warm at best. I liked the tea and cookie set up and the room decor <3

We’ll maintained, the pool and saunas were fantastic! Highly recommend as it’s walkable and very convenient to all locations downtown. Tge bar was also excellent!!

The lobby area has great spaces to lounge, read a book, or meet friends. The dining areas and food were excellent. My only gripe (small in nature) was that the shampoo was unusual in that it was in a tube and did not provide sufficient suds upon use.

This is a great hotel for location and comfort. I don't sleep well in hotels but these beds and pillows were fantastic! Multiple options to choose from. I slept great. Dozens of great eating options within 3 blocks of hotel. Needed a cab at 4:30 am for our getaway and they arranged it. Great breakfast every morning too!

This is an exceptional hotel. The location is very near the royal mile. I really liked how it is built into the side of the hill. We were able to use the 4th floor exit at the top and the 1st floor at the bottom of the hill. I will always try to stay at the Royal Scotsman when I return to Edinburgh!

When searching for a hotel to stay, what attracted me to the Bonham Hotel was the style and look presented in the overview. This did not disappoint and I absolutely loved the victorian feel and how this hotel was so wonderfully put together. The staff was beyond amazing and so nice to me with questions, assistance, and general feedback about the hotel history and suggestions on great places to visit around town. Amazing stay and service!

Beautifully decorated large rooms, comfortable beds, good shower, great location and friendly helpful host added up to a wonderful stay in a gorgeous old priory building oozing with history. Breakfast was made fresh every morning and was delicious and varied with lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt, full Scottish or other options. Host Robin gave us a great welcome and walkthru but gave us plenty of space. We loved our stay and highly recommend his house.

Excellent trip from start to finish. We arrived early, but the rooms were already ready. And we got a fantastic upgrade! The concierge helped us plan out our sightseeing for the following day, as well as made a great dinner recommendation and reservation. Drinks and food at Peacock Alley and the Caley bar were excellent. The service was wonderful - I wish I could remember all the staffs’ name who assisted us. Thanks for an excellent stay!

Check in was smooth. No lift but successful in lugging 30+kg. suitcase up & down 3 flights of stairs. Room was impeccably clean. Room safe was difficult to access due to its position on floor of closet and tendency to entrap tiny objects in door which forced me to call for help.
