The staff at this hotel were generally unfriendly, and check-in took quite a while. The hotel doesn't have a buffet for lunch or dinner, so dinner reservations are required. However, dinner reservations can only be made three days in advance, so on two nights we only had reservations until 9 p.m. The service at the Lotus restaurant was particularly poor. The front desk could only book us dinner until 9 p.m., but we weren't seated until 9:50 p.m. After we were seated, we were told it was last call and no additional orders could be placed. We understood and placed our order immediately. Then, after waiting another 50 minutes, we were only served our appetizers, no main courses, and told that the kitchen was out of food and closing. This was outrageous. We complained to the restaurant manager, who responded with a rude attitude, saying it was none of his business. I've never encountered this kind of situation at an all-inclusive hotel in Mexico. Another night at the Italian restaurant, we had ordered an non alcoholic drink from the menu for two children, showing the waiter what we wanted YET we were given 2 alcoholic drink, causing an 11-year-old to subsequently faint and vomit from the alcohol after a few sips. During our visit to the resort this time, there was a major algae bloom. The seaweed they pulled up from the beach wasn't immediately removed and was placed on the side of the hotel beach.
