It seemed like retaliation for finding no valuables. I was shocked. I understand theft can happen, which is why I take precautions. But if locked suitcases aren’t safe, must we carry them around the city? This hotel charges neither budget nor luxury. It offers uncommon amenities for its price range: fridge, coffee maker, umbrella, bathrobe, full English breakfast. Had this not happened, I’d have considered it my regular hotel. The hotel contacted police, who declined to act. Staff apologized, but no concrete measures followed. Though insurance was mentioned, I’ve had no follow-up. The fact that both rooms were accessible suggests the perpetrator was internal. Without accountability, I fear recurrence. This hotel is unsafe. Avoid it.
