A lovely, clean city that's easy to get around. Friendly locals. Lots of shopping & restaurants. Loved the food at the markets. So surprised at quality of the food at stores such as Family Mart and 7-Eleven. Castle grounds were gorgeous. Recommend!

Lovely city - quiet and relaxed, wonderful park and gardens, interesting little visited old residential area, cemeteries and shrines. Atmospheric and restrained. A contrast to the Alpine Route Tatayama to Murodo. Beautiful - but insanely busy!

We loved the samurai house tours and beautiful gardens. Geisha district and fish marketvery interesting. Visited Shirakawa-go, which was fascinating, and easy to reach by bus. Great historical insights without crowds!

The Kanazawa Castle is just beautiful either day or night. We came during the cherry blossom time which makes it even better. The Omicho Market is a must visit. And the samurai village too.

Kanazawa and area are worth seeking. Between Kenroku-en garden, Nagamachi samurai district, Higashi Chaya geisha district and a tour to Unesco heritage village of Shirakawa you can spend a few very pleasant days in the area.

"We want to give the hotel Onyado Nono Kanazawa natural hot spring more than five stars. We were greeted with “Have a nice day” and “welcome back” with the staff’s smiles during our stay. The place was lovely and clean, and it came with lots of extras. Room wear and bath amenities were available for the stay. We used them to go into a spacious hot spring. Free ice cream or a probiotic drink after the hot bath was provided. The hotel also offered a free half-bowl of delicious ramen as a night snack. The hotel also provided free washing machines ( dryers pay $1 for 20 20-minute cycles) so we could have clean clothes on our trip. The areas in the hotel were beautifully decorated, emphasizing Japan's beauty.
We enjoyed the morning breakfast buffet with fresh seafood and other delicious dishes.
We hope to come back and use the hotel. "
