Check-in staff weren't particularly attentive or helpful - there was a lot of information arranged on the counter about closure of facilities due to the coronavirus, but the staff didn't explain any of these or offer anything other than 'here's your key'. I'm also not used to not being acknowledged by staff in Japanese hotels when exiting or entering the property - not that this is a big issue, but to me it points to a lack of attention to detail. Only a couple of staff ever greeted me. The room itself had seen better days - there were quite a lot of marks on the walls, although the cleaning stuff were excellent and very friendly. So not an awful place to stay but very meh - it gave me the impression that it thinks it's one of the hottest hotels in town but it really isn't.
