"This is the perfect location for a good price in Kyoto. It seems to be a recent construction, as the materials and finishes look modern and new. We were not looking for extensive amenities such as gym, shops, etc. We stayed for 7 nights in order to carry out daily trips from Kyoto while still enjoying the city during late afternoons. The breakfast buffet is great, lots of traditional and non-traditional foods served from 6:30am, which was a plus to start early our days. The rooms extremely quiet, clean, and the rooms big for Japan standards. The bathroom was even larger than expected. The shower is a separate room with an integrated tub which was a good surprise. The 7-eleven connected to the hotel is super convenient for late snacking. So we were extremely satisfied as it is so close that made everything so convenient. Highly recommend if this is what you are looking for!"

"Hotel was a lovely traditional style. Double room was large and well maintained. Private hotsprings were easy to book. Free drinks and snacks available throughout stay. Located next to JR Station on the line headed to arashiyama. Good stop over point. Nice to relax in the onsen after a long day's walk."

"I booked this hotel for the gym and the pool but its very misleading as you the leisure centre is separate and you have to pay each time to use it. The room was basic but clean and staff were helpful. It is 40 minute walk from main shops but you are right on top of shaiin metro so easy to get around."
