「Good location and helpful staff」

「A lovely, well run hotel with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was superb and the room clean , comfortable with everything you need. Thank you the Sandburn Staff!」

「Great place. A few minutes walk from the main lodge where you leave your car. There is a parking bay to unload your gear if required. Note there is no lift so not suitable if you have walking difficulties. Nice modern room with big bathroom. Tv is tiny」

「The property was in a rural location and looked attractive from the outside. The staff were all friendly and helpful and breakfast was nice. The bedroom was quite dark and as its an old building wasnt particularly well sound proofed. The bathroom constantly had a terrible smell, like damp. This was very unpleasant.」

「brilliant place. staff were lovely, very friendly. i needed vegan options for breakfast and they were more than happy to accommodate. great location and easy parking behind the pub. would definitely stay again」

「Gorgeous looking hotel. Already lovely but excited to see it when their plans to gain a 4th star come to fruition. My only qualms are rather thin walls to the next bathroom (you can hear the next rooms shower power unit) and the ventilation (weather was low 20s but room got full sun and with no air con it was very hot, even with windows fully open). Otherwise, tasteful decor, a really nice restaurant with super food and a beautiful location.」

「Everything was lovely but the food was amazing. I would stay again just for the restaurant.」

「Nice place..a little tricky to find. Service first night good great breakfast...2nd night and breakfast not as professional. Disappointing provision of toiletries....only enough for 1 first night and NONE 2nd night.....just the hand wash!!! Comfortable bed and spacious room with good thoughtful provision of everything else.」

「Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Room well presented but no shower gel in the shower! Spa would have been £50 pp as we were on a B &B rate. Food in elements restaurant overpriced and vegetarian choice was bland and disappointing. Gorgeous slightly individual hotel but definitely overpriced」

「The hotel is beautiful, well equipped, very nice staff. The location is gorgeous with easy access to the centre of Malton. The room was very nice, clean and spacious. Only negative was mold in the bathroom, apart from that our stay was perfect!」

「Alles perfekt und sehr schönes Zimmer.」

「Had a nice stay for our anniversary. Good suggestions for local walks. Wine and food was nice. It was a little disappointing that they did not do anything to mark our 10 year wedding anniversary and we had put a note on our booking. Drinks are quite expensive £6.50 for a pint/£10 for prosseco glass」

「Overall an OK stay but not worth the price tag. Visited at half term, hotel appeared under prepared. All staff were helpful and polite but clearly under staffed so not necessarily their fault. Room not ready 2 hours after check-in, walkways not maintained, dirty glasses and plates with food on outside a lot of rooms. 1 bath robe in the room for 3 guests, toilet in the room didn't flush and whole bathroom in need of basic repairs. Bar/restaurant stopped taking food orders at 7:20pm in school...
