「I really enjoyed my stay at Ashbourne House! The room was very comfortable and bright, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great too -- a lovely walk along the river away from the bustling city centre. 」
「The host was very kind and helpful. The Barbican is located just outside the wall, which is brilliant, as inside the walls is quite noisy until very late. We would definitely stay here again!

「Great hotel, great location, fantastic breakfast and staff. Only downside but wouldn’t stop us going back is the road noise from in the front rooms. 」
「We had a lovely stay here. The staff were wonderful and accommating, gave us tips on places and restaurants to go to. Its only a short walk to the centre and to the riverside - extremely convenient.
Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options and fresh bread each morning - 3 different kinds!

「The staff was very nice and helpful. We liked the location of the hotel because it was not in the most touristy area--a welcome break from the crowded sightseeing spots.」
「This hotel was lovely! Have everything you need and it’s super quiet!
Staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was ready 4 hours early so we were able to check straight in. Really handy as they have lockers you can leave your stuff in to go back and collect after you’ve checked out, saves you having to carry big bags and cases around York with you. We will definitely be back. Perfect location to, only a 10 minute walk to York city centre. 」
「The hotel is located very close to restaurants, pubs, and a beautiful park right across the street. It’s walkable into the city center with many beautiful sites and attractions.」
