"Surprisingly quiet for a motorway stop-off. Bed was reasonably comfortable and the front staff were nice. Shame that the parking was extra, can’t imagine who doesn’t drive there. We had a drink in the bar and the white wine was a little ropey but overall a good place to break up a long journey."

"The room was reasonably clean but dated, the shower leaked water everywhere. The bar was a real sanctuary of peace and quiet. We believed the evening meal was to be £21.90 but we were charged £23.95, why ?"

"We stayed for two nights in room 101. All good at sign in then we went to the room and tried to sign in to the WiFi to work…nothing. I rang reception who explained how to sign in as no instructions on the tv or room. That detail was explained but still Wouldn’t sign in. So I took my iPhones to reception and it immediately signed in. We later found out that IT had been working on it all day so the hotel guests entirely were not able to access WiFi at all. I was furious that reception knew this but decided or was instructed not to be honest. Honesty from the start is so important. No work undertaken for day 1. Day 2 it was still the same but the reception staff provided an alternative to all me to work because I had business meetings. The bathroom sink has an awful smell coming up through it when some water is run. A little treatment would sort that out."

"Check in wasent till 4:30pm.Quite busy when we arrived so had a drink a nice collection of ipa always a good thing.When got a drink told him we was checking in quite quick told us when your ready il show you to your room.To which they did explained everything.The room was everything we needed nice layout comfy bed.Near the train station but couldn’t hear much as trains pulled up.Shame they don’t do breakfast but there’s loads of place to go for something to eat in walking distance.Defo recommend to family and friends and would stay agin."

"It was an absolute joy to be able to stay in this beautiful and historic Lodge house. The property is quite stunning, set on the edge of a huge estate in rolling countryside. Everything you need is provided in the Lodge, and the enclosed garden is of a good size which was perfect for our Afghan Hound, Jagger, to be able to stretch his legs and generally explore. It was very peaceful and very comfortable. The estate is huge and we probably only saw a very small part of it when out walking but where we were was obviously working farmland with various crops, a magnificent herd of cows and some sheep. It felt very special to stay here."
