"Have stayed before and really like it here. Parking is handy, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. However, after visiting many times over the years, the lift is still out of order, so there is only 1 lift that holds (comfortably) 2 people at a time, serving the whole hotel. My disabled sister ended up having to hobble down 3 floors twice as she got fed up with waiting. it’s disappointing that the lifts are not being maintained properly. The staircases were regularly busy with people going up and down, and the day we stayed, a lot of the clientelle were elderly, so I would imagine there were a lot of people struggling with the lift situation.
Overall, the breakfast is good with plenty of choice. However, please try your hash browns, they are not nice, and the scrambled egg which I’m guessing is made from powder has way too much fluid going on!

"Judy was exceptionally friendly and helpful. A ring was found that meant an awful lot to me. The hotel was a little tired around the edges in decor, but overall, it was not terribly expensive, with friendly staff and a nice breakfast. The room was very hot!. There are a lot of really poor hotels in Eastbourne. This is definitely one of the better ones."
"The Grand Hotel is a long-established, traditional hotel with a distinctly classic look and feel. The aesthetic is not quite my personal preference, but I had a good stay and was particularly impressed by the service.
I emailed the hotel before arriving and received a prompt and helpful response. My room was spacious, with generous wardrobe space, a safe, a Nespresso machine with pods, two complimentary bottles of water and bespoke bathroom amenities.
Service throughout my stay was excellent. Rita and Sylvia at reception were both extremely helpful, as was the valet team. Room service occasionally took a few attempts to reach, but once through, they were attentive and the food arrived promptly. I also overslept one morning and nearly missed breakfast. They kindly arranged a tray and brought it to my room.
The food was consistently excellent.
The hotel has a beautiful seafront setting, especially on a clear day and the lounge and afternoon tea are clearly popular with local guests.
If you favour traditional grand hotels, classic interiors and attentive service, The Grand should suit you well. For me, the quality of the service was what made the stay."
