「The room was really poor. A 'cosy double' turned out to be a tiny room where the double bed was tight in the corner with no room for a second bedside table. This meant that one person was sleeping next to the wall which makes getting out for the loo in the night difficult and could disturb the other sleeper. What made this so appalling was that I was charged £240 for the room which was extortionate in the extreme for such a tiny room. I feel I have been fleeced.」

「There were some lovely touches about the general accommodation such as pretty chandeliers, nice artwork and grand mirrors. We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. There was no plug point near the mirror, so doing hair was difficult. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely big fan in the room to help combat the heat. 「We enjoyed our one night stay in this historic pub, with free off street parking. Battle is a wonderful village full of history and we really enjoyed the evening exploring the town and enjoying the vista. The hotel is small, old and quaint. The room was small,but comfortable with a private bathroom with shower,along with complimentary tea and coffee. Would recommend this Inn for exploring this historic area of East Sussex.」

「Towels and bedding were clean, although the rooms lacked TLC with the shower cubicle needing a good clean and the grouting redoing and the cobwebs clearing from the curtain rail. The hotel does not have its own restaurant and does not supply any meals. Car parking is to the rear of the property and has limited spaces, definitely not enough for the entire hotel, but their is public parking 5 minutes away which is free between the hours of 6pm and 8am.
