"Nice location, and our room was spacious with a nice view of the river and the Minster. The property was within easy walking distance of the Minster, Shambles, and historic portions of the town. We were quite pleased overall."

"The room was beautiful - much like the hotel! We had a walk in wardrobe and an extra room with a sofa bed and TV. Very spacious - which was perfect. We had some drinks in the garden room and the bar. Both very beautiful and great selection of drinks. Very much recommend staying here!"
Burn Hall Hotel

"We made a last minute booking and the hotel was able to have our room ready in just a couple of hours. For the price we paid the hotel room was very good, clean but slightly dated fittings in the bathroom. The welcome was great."
ibis Styles York Centre
8/10 Good
"Hotel was clean and fresh smelling. Our room was well laid out with plenty of storage and space around furniture so we weren’t bumping into each other. The bathroom was a little tired with a leaky shower pipe, a missing dial front, stained door seals on shower cubicle and a loose toilet flush. Once again plenty of room in the bathroom. We had a corner room on the ground floor facing the street so the traffic was quite noisy but we still managed to sleep well enough. Breakfast choices were amazing and I’ve never seen such a vast offering of items before. All the main cooked items, fresh fruit and fruit salad, yoghurts, pastries, continental meats and cheeses, cereals and plenty of little extras to make yoghurt bowls. I looked forward to my muesli with added chia seeds and cranberries on our second morning as it was so tasty the first day! Staff were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. My only tiny issue was the cost of the parking on site as I couldn’t find this listed on the website anywhere so that was an extra expense we weren’t expecting. Great stay in a city heaped with truly interesting history and so many breathtaking buildings"
The Queens Hotel & Victoria Cloisters
10/10 Excellent
"Four of us rented an apartment in the cloister, which was very quiet and clean. It was conveniently located, not far from the train station and just across the river from York old town. It was great to have our own kitchen facilities. The furniture in the living room was colorful but uncomfortable, springs and stuffing were shot. And the dining table was in a corner only 4 small children could have squeezed into. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms warm and clean. We enjoyed our stay."
