"The staff are very attentive to guests. Every time we walked near the reception, they noticed us immediately and were ready to assist. Even for simple questions, they were always willing to help. I was really impressed by their service. The location is also great — just outside the crowded area. Once you cross the road, you’ll find plenty of food options, shopping streets, and a metro station nearby."

"Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. We originally booked for only part of our trip, however we extended twice during our stay due to the high quality of service. Very accomodating, kind and helpful staff. Housekeeping was excellent with high attention to detail. Rooms were quiet, comfortable beds. Close to - convenience stores, public transport, a short walk to ueno park, direct train to airport. We look forward to staying again on our return."

"Both in Ueno and Kyoto Nohgo has a paciness that is in contrast to the measured precision of other accommodation we used on our trip to Japan. Check in was great and front desk team presented a positive vibe but the interface with the dining area needs working on. It’s as if it is run by a different franchise? The food however is excellent. Breakfast in particular on a different level to Nohga Kyoto. We left Ueno on a bit of a down note because we showed up excitedly for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 9-55 just 5 minutes before the 7-10 window closed and were advised Breakfast entry was closed. The advice on timing needs to be re-written if 10.00 means something else?? Most staff speak pretty good English but I suppose that lowers the cultural divide and made the rejection harder to take than if it had had a language barrier to cross? Having been told there was nowhere to simply have a drink without food we found a mezzanine above the restaurant but ordering a drink is not easy."

"Ambience. This place is an entire vibe. You want something low light and fits a certain feel, this is your place. Apart from that the rooms are okay. Bed is comfortable, but they don’t offer much else for their guests like other hotels would. I was a bit disappointed though because I’ve stood here 3 times. The first time the breakfast was a buffet and all you can eat. It was great, nice portions and I felt fancy. The last stay they reduced the amount of food they give for the buffet. This final stay they reduce the buffet to barely anything"
