"The Gondola Chalet was the perfect place for my group snowboarding at Grand Hirafu. Easy to find and check in.
The chalets are walking distance to the King Gondola. So easy to get to the mountain first thing in the morning.
The chalets have a great view, lots of room, very clean and everything you’ll need in the kitchen. We cooked at the chalet twice and walked to dinner nearby at some very yummy restaurants. This place is better than advertised.

( ha ha it took us til the last day to figure out there was a tap to add cool water to cool it down…. It was 50°C) but no matter as the public onsen was fantastic especially the rooftop one that overlooked the gorgeous lake. Simply amazing, relaxing, perfect. My biggest problem with all Japanese onsen is the array of lovely lotions and potions that I couldn’t decipher what they were for, I just guessed. Overall wonderful property. "The hotel is adequate. Our room was spacious enough to make our 5 nights stay comfortable. Its biggest plus is access to the grand baths across the road. On-site bakery is great. There is no reception as such, staff from bakery multi task. The main issue was Wi-Fi or lack of it on the 6th floor."

"Nice 5 star hotel. The service and staff is top notch. The views are spectacular. Great place to retreat to and relax. We stayed here for 1 night in our trip through Hokkaido.
My only issue was at check in. We were required to make the dinner reservations and meal selection at the front desk. And not everything we wanted was available to us. So it was very awkward experience in my opinion. I don’t know if I made a mistake not reserving the restaurants in advance but it is hard to know what you want for dinner up to 7 months in advance. Maybe it was just better to order room service. "
