I went to the lobby to resolve the issue, but after being given a new key, it still didn’t work—ultimately wasting an hour of my time. At checkout, there was no acknowledgment or even a simple “thank you for your stay,” which felt unprofessional. Additionally, the spa was not worth the money and did not meet expectations."

"We've been to many Secrets resorts before and this one is just ok. It is new and doesn't have that "Soul" yet. The capacity at the time we visited the resort was about 60%. The hotel app doesn't allow you to make a reservation to any restaurant. Even through our butler it was not possible. We went to Bluewater Grill once and Himitsu. In both cases we were told to wait 1 hour just to get the pager and after that ??? We did not go to these 2 restaurants. With 60 % capacity you can only imagine wait time during 100% capacity. Olio restaurant was a blast. Amazing food and friendly staff. The only down part was a wait time to get our breakfasts. The beach was ok. Tons of weeds and not even once we've seen a cleaning crew. If you ever go to Secrets Akumal, you will see a weeds cleaning crew every single day. At 7 am, on the preferred club swimming pool, all chairs were reserved. You will see beach hats, books and sun screens on the towels. But there is a trick for y'all to know how to get the chair(s). These chairs are set up that way by pool guys. If you give them a tip, they will find a chair for you. I would never think to tip for The Preferred Club spot at the pool. However, it became a trend on many Secrets Preferred Club resorts. In addition, despite of Preferred Club pool being for members only, many not-preferred club guest were at that pool. Nobody checks the room number and the preferred club gate or access from the 1st floor was open to everybody."

Our room was excellent, with a beautiful ocean view, very comfortable beds, fresh air, and everything was very clean. The food and drinks were 10/10. The pools are excellent and very clean. Easy access to the beach 🏖️ . "
