I had serious concerns about the safety and the condition of the property. As a solo traveler, I didn’t feel comfortable or secure, so I made the difficult decision to cancel my reservation.
Out of fairness, I contacted the hotel directly to explain the situation and request a refund. They responded and indicated that they would approve the refund. I then provided that information to Expedia, thinking they would support a resolution.
Unfortunately, neither the hotel nor Expedia followed through. The hotel stopped responding, and Expedia denied the refund, saying they couldn’t validate the hotel’s written approval, even though I submitted proof. I did everything on my end to cooperate, but I was left without support.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. As someone who books travel often, I expected more accountability from both the hotel and Expedia. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions and encourages better customer service moving forward.
