I was disappointed with the check-in process. We arrived around 12:30 p.m., understanding that check-in is at 3:00 p.m., but after paying for incidentals, we were told a personal assistant would contact us with our room assignment—which never happened. I followed up twice and was given inaccurate wait times before ultimately having to find another staff member at 3:00 p.m. to complete check-in. Additionally, before receiving our room, we were directed to someone who claimed they would explain the resort amenities, but it turned into a high-pressure attempt to get us to attend a 90-minute sales presentation for vacation packages. This was very off-putting and not something I expect while on vacation. Although Ava is a newer resort, I noticed more wear and tear than expected. The pool was the highlight, but the food and service across the restaurants were mediocre. The one standout was housekeeping—our room was cleaned daily and very well maintained.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ava Resort. The staff were really friendly and accommodating throughout the resort. The salt water and fresh water pools were always clean, the poolside was very clean, and the complimentary day beds were a great experience. The beach could use some cleanup, but the sargassum barriers kept all the seaweed off the beach. Rooms were nicely equipped, ocean facing, and cleaned twice daily! Fully stocked fridge, snacks, and daily towel replacement was really appreciated. The Ava kids club was probably the nicest kids club we’ve experienced. So may cool activities for the kids, the staff were wonderful, and always ensured the safety of our children. Our kids kept begging to go back every day. The theater/live shows were a nice addition to the amenities. It was nice to have indoor shows, out of the heat and sun. The Magic Show was insane. More of a mentalist/illusionist but the performance was mind blowing. The drinks throughout the resort were excellent. This was the first resort we’ve been to (out of probably 5-6 resorts) where the drinks actually contained alcohol. They were mixed well and delicious. The taco stand was awesome too. We stopped there probably 2-3 times a day. Lastly, a big thank you to ALBERTO with the CONCIERGE group. Alberto was assigned as our personal concierge for the week. He assisted with reservation changes for the restaurants, confirming our shuttle pick-up, provided us with and daily schedules of activities. Thank you Alberto

No nos encantó el hotel, es demasiado grande y con bebé pequeño se complican los traslados. Las albercas un problema para accesar, tienes que caminar muchísimo. La playa nada agradable, tiene mucho sargazo, así que no fue opción para entrar. La comida no fue nuestro hit y las opciones de vino que tienen fue muy limitada… lo único agradable fue la atención de todo el personal, especialmente de nuestra concierge.

Their restaurant reservation system is continually offline, so you can not get in to eat at any of the nice restaurants they advertise. The staff is useless in helping, they just say to keep trying using the on line system which did not work all week. After about 3 days of the same food in the buffet/ cafeteria, I was done. The property is very nice, although their beach access is backwater and smells. I was disappointed and will chose a different resort next time. Carolina at the front desk was the lone shining light as she did try and succeed in getting us a restaurant reservation. Our assigned “personal resort assistant” never was any help and did not return messages.

We had a wonderful stay at AVA Resort Cancun. We arrived a few days early to enjoy the resort as a family before a company convention, and both experiences were amazing. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and made it easy to relax and recharge. Room service was excellent—fast, reliable, and consistently delicious. The pool was a standout feature: the temperature was perfect, and there were so many fun activities throughout the day. Our family especially loved the floating obstacle course—it was such a fun and unique experience. We also enjoyed kayaking and spending time together at the F1 simulator and arcade, which our son absolutely loved. I especially want to highlight the Ava Kids Club, as they truly made our experience so much easier. Our 6-year-old is naturally shy and usually hesitant in new environments, but the staff made him feel so welcome that he wanted to go back every single day. They were incredibly attentive and engaging, and we really appreciated how safe and secure the facility is. It gave us complete peace of mind to enjoy time as a couple and attend company events child-free. Honestly, we would come back to this resort for this reason alone. A special thank you to Andrea, Ivon, Grecia, Anne, Rebe, Yadi, and Laura—you all work so hard and are amazing with the kids. Thank you for making our son feel comfortable and safe. If I had one small criticism, it would be that there isn’t much of a beach, but the pool made up for it.

Fui en semana de pascua con mi familia, la recepción fue buena pero tanto los botones que entregan las maletas y después los meseros estaban sobrepasados, traíamos niños y como no alcanzamos camastros por qué llegamos a medio día nadie nos atendía en la zona de albercas, no fue el único lugar donde se saturaba, también las cenas en los restaurantes no había lugar, tienes que reservar con 3 o 4 días de antelación, para reservar un camastro te levantas a las 6am para hacerlo y la playa no la puedes usar por la cantidad de sargazo que hay, que por cierto solo ponen de 5 a 10 camastros y a rostizarte si tus hijos quieren jugar en la arena. El buffet lo tienen que mejorar, la mitad de la alberca no se permite usar, es gigante y tal vez sea por lo mismo en temas de seguridad y el inflable se permite usar solo 20 mins y también hay lista de espera de varias horas. Lo bueno son las instalaciones, las habitaciones, los amenities que tienen costo (boliche, juegos de con lazer, maquinitas, etc), tiene eventos todas las noches y algunos con reservas, el hotel es muy grande y creo que eso les afecta en el servicio.

Overall great property. Food was great, pool area was well maintained and the staff were very friendly. Had a blast doing the obstacle course. Lots of seating options and the food served by the pool was very convenient. Kids also had a blast at the kids club. 10/10 experience.

I really enjoyed my stay at AVA Cancun. The resort is beautiful, modern, and has a lot to offer with great amenities, good food, and a fun atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and overall it was a great experience. One thing to keep in mind is that the resort is very large, so be prepared to do a lot of walking to get around. If you don’t mind that, it’s definitely a great place to stay.

Booking through Expedia gave us access to 65% off services including golf and spa treatments. I would highly recommend booking a spa treatment and enjoying a golf day. The course was beautiful and challenging.
