Great location/ nice staff/ clean rooms

The NEST at Nishiki is both a new and an exceptional property. The rooms were spotless and functional, the staff was extremely attentive, and the location was just perfect--steps from the Nishiki Market and the Gion district. Yet the single most outstanding feature of the NEST at Nishiki is its manager, Ms. Chie Nakamura. She is professional, knowledgeable, a top-notch hotelier, and a wonderful person. This hotel is a reflection of its manager. ありがとうございました.

Great stay - would highly recommend

The hotel was great! The staff was polite and inviting. The rooms was spacious. And the lounge was great for breakfast and beverages in the evening.

This is a modern hotel in a great location, located on top of a subway station only 4 stops without transfer from Kyoto Station. The subway and bus options are very convenient. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance and of course several Seven's and a nice grocery store nearby. The beds are comfortably and the Nespresso machines were great. This is a stylish hotel, clean and convenient, with good food. My room had no desk, so it is not convenient for business.

Excellent property and staff. The afternoon sweets and cocktails should not be missed. Note, they stop admitting people about 30 minutes before closing time so give yourself some extra time.

This hotel was the best out of the hotels we stayed at on our two week trip (3 hotels total). If you’re looking for a great hotel in Kyoto it’s this hotel. Room was clean and beautiful. Bed was excellent (all other beds we slept on were hard and bad). Bathroom was great! Close to the subway and bus stop (use the bus - super easy, fast and clean). Next door to convenience store (very helpful). Blocks from Kyoto station (also very helpful). One block from a beautiful shrine. Coin-op laundromat...

Great little hotel. Very quiet and calm. Great showers. Lots of pastries and drinks, which solved the problem of breakfast, especially for us, as we woke up at 5 am most days. (We noticed that some guests filled up bags of croissants after checking out, which was really sad to see, as they just emptied out the box of pastries into a plastic bag and left other guests nothing.) there is a 7/11 and a metro line right next to it. And some nice restaurants around too.

This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are stylish and the location could not be better. It is right next to a subway station and an easy trip from Kyoto station. The breakfast is tasty with many choices. The rooms are a little on the small side for Americans...we are from New York City so pretty typical for NYC standards. Would 100% stay here again. Five star for food, design, location, and service.

By far one of the best hotels we stayed at during out time in Japan

I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are located—it offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. I’d definitely come back!
