「The room was a very good size, very clean with coffee and tea provided. Breakfast was very generous and excellent quality, we had an evening meal on our first night which was also very good. Thoroughly recommend a stay here as it’s also very close to Ullswater with its beautiful scenic views. I have dropped one star as the parking outside the hotel is a bit hit and miss as it’s also used for the surrounding pubs and shops. However there is a public car park a short walk over Pooley Bridge. 」

We thought the main bedding could be better with a bit more blackout curtain/blinds as the ambient lights outside were on for a longer period at night - these are some feedback for the sake of it. 「The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits. The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. 」
