"I had a wonderful stay at Powter Howe, a real treat. The room and bathroom were immaculately cleaned and well kept and the host is a gem who cooks the best breakfast which includes lovely free range eggs from her own hens. Waking up in the morning to the view over a beautiful garden beyond the lake to Skiddaw was an extra treat as each morning there was a new ever changing Lake District vista. I'll definitely be back! "We stayed in the family room for the weekend. The room was very clean and spacious, with a brilliant view of the lake. The hotel is only a stone's throw away from Hellvelyn which is where we intended to visit, which was very convenient. With the delicious breakfast it was very good value. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful as well."
