"Staff was rude . Bar downstairs closed at 10. It was as New Year’s Eve and the bartender wouldn’t serve us at 10 pm after making us wait 5 mins for her to finish her personal conversation with some other customers . "

"We were in San Diego for a show at the Balboa Theatre and it was literally a 3 minute walk. Definitely the place to stay if going to the Balboa. The hotel itself is very nice and comfortable. This is our 2nd time staying here, and I recommend it highly. "

"Great neighborhood. Lovely hotel. Impeccably clean (which I know because my partner is the sort of person who brings a blacklight). Only note is that that the walls are a little thin, but to be fair that's just part of being an older building. "

"It was okay it was clean and safe and predictable for the most part. The only two complaints are that somehow the day I was checking out they called me and said that I had done an early checkout at 7:00 a.m. which is impossible and they switched it back to 11:00 a.m. which was weird. The shower has the strangest set up where the shampoo conditioner and liquid soap are glued to blocks which are then caught against the wall of the shower. Of course in a steamy hot environment they fall off which is exactly which one of the one of them had done which was lying on the floor. Who would have guessed that a hot steamy environment would cause them to disconnect from the wall that they were glued to. I can't imagine who decided to glue these heavy containers to linoleum shower wall. "

"I had a room with a double bed. One of the beds had a stain on the sheet so I used the other bed. The room was cleaned during my stay but the sheet was not replaced. "

"Everything was great. Room was clean and modern. Staff were friendly. Great location."
